Mixed Media Photography

This collection of works draws on pop art, retro and surrealism. Komlaish’s, digitally manipulated images, collage, paintings, installation art and photography deal with issues of gender, identity, culture, social and cultural taboos, ethnicity and religion. Her multi-layering of photography involves transforming or altering a photograph using a variety of methods and techniques, this digital integration creates an undefined and misunderstood space, yet portrays pictorial authenticity, representing a narrative and perplex that is hidden within each individual’s identity and psyche.
